Vans Go Skateboarding Day was was epic!
Here are some pictures from the event as captured by @Vansphmanila, @wendellvans, @troymontero and @alotofDON:
People came early to register:
Troy went early too because he was shooting the event. (He loves Vans that much.)
He also took a picture of this awesome Vans couch that everybody wants to have.
Then the skaters started to warm up.
The first event was Highest Ollie. It’s like the limbo dance for skaters, but in reverse, because they have to skate over something.
Next was the Game of S.K.A.T.E. for women and kids.
The crowd also got to watch the Let Us Sk8 video.
It was a very good turnout.
A lot of Vans goodies were on sale. Oh, by the way, the Half Cab is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
You know who else went to Vans Go Skateboarding Day? MyJaps! She took away Don’s skateboard 🙂
This guy with a camera strapped to his body was also there. His name is Jimmy Muna.
Then after the skate events, the crowd was treated to a mini concert where The Morning Episodes, Runway Crimes, Save Me Hollywood, Butchercons, Franco, and Kamikazee performed.
The crowd went home happy.
And it’s all because of the hardworking people of VANS PH Manila who is led by one guy with a mission:
I wake up everymorning to make sure skaters have a place to skate. I hope skaters are happy today. –@wendellvans
Thank you Mr. Wendell Vans!
